Coming Back

Sofia:
She's home now. After a whole year of being gone, she's home. She came back for our sophmore year together. Now's the hard part though... How do I tell her? How do I tell the girl who's been my best friend for as long as I can remember that I love her? How do I tell her that I want to hold her in my arms and never let her go. Never again. She's looking at me now, with those big brown eyes of hers. They're the most amazing thing I've ever seen. She's beautiful. I don't care what anyone else says.

"Sofia? What's up?" Erica asks, giving me one of her golden smiles. I almost melt. "Nothing. Just thinking. Ya know." I tell her, giving her my most honest smile. She just grins brighter and goes back to watching Lion King. I sit, wondering for a bit. What's the easiest way to show someone you love them? Well, that's obvious. You kiss them... But there's the problem. I can't just kiss her. She's a girl and so am I. I've never just kissed another girl. I'm not suppose to like girls, but I can't explain this unreal attraction to Erica. She's singing now, along with the movie. Her voice is so amazing. What if she doesn't feel the same way for me? What if I scare her away forever? Then it hits me. We'll play a game.

"Erica, let's play a guessing game." I say suddenly. "Okay! I love games!" She says all excited. "Alright. Now I'll put this hat over your eyes and you'll guess what I'm putting on your face." She nods. The game begins.

First, I start simple. I poke her cheek. She giggles. "That's your finger, Sofia." I smile. "That's right, Erica." Then, I poke her cheek with the and of a pencil. She thinks for a minute. "A pen?" She questions. "Nope. Guess again." She smiles and then thinks some more. "A pencil?" I pat her hand. "Yes! Good job!" This goes on for a while before I know it's time to make my move. I lean in and place my lips on her cheek. She inhales slightly sharper than before, but doesn't seem to understand. "Hmm... Could you do that one again?" She asks. "Sure." I say softly. This time I kiss her on the lips. She just sits there. "Sofia... Did you... Did you just kiss me?" Erica asks. Her face is a bit red. "Yes." I admit. She smiles. "Okay. I thought I was crazy for a second." She says, pulling the hat off her head. "You... You aren't mad?" I question. "No. Sofia... I've been waiting for that moment for a long time." She states. "Really? So does that mean... Will you... Will you be my girlfriend?" I ask. I can feel my face grow warm. "Well... Of course." She says. "Yay!" I shout. She takes my hand in hers and I place one on her cheek. "I'm the happiest girl alive." I state before laying my lips on hers once again. She's home, and now I'll never let her go again.
